Bishop’s Waltham deanery has a long-standing link with Calibar in Nigeria.

The Link is maintained by group visits from the Deanery, the last one being in 2005 and  hospitality to the Bishop of Calabar, when he is in England.  Grants are sent to help  build new  churches and support church school work in the quickly growing  Nigerian Diocese.  In November last year there was a welcome visit from one of Bishop  Tunde's congregation who had been a hostess on two of the visits.  She was Dr. Ekpo Offiong who stayed briefly  in Shedfield , whilst visiting friends and relatives in the U.K.  She  met The Rural Dean , Peter Kelly and   the St. Nicholas  Assistant Curate, Elizabeth Groves  as well enjoying the St. John the Baptist Luncheon Club while she was here.
